Its design is based on the masks and costumes of the peliqueiro and the cigarrón, characters that star in the Entroidos de Laza and Verín festivals, both in Ourense. The Galician carnival, O Entroido, is, along with those of Cádiz, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Águilas, in Murcia, one of the examples of carnivals in Spain that stand out for their originality, beauty and spectacularity.
